The KUGLER Flycutter F2000-2X is an ultraprecise, CNC controlled 2-axis milling machine with aerostatic bearings, which is specially designed and optimized for the demands of ultraprecision machining according to the flycutting method, particularly for longer traverse paths of up to 2000 mm.
The machine is characterized by thermally stable assembly sections made from natural granite (machine base, Z column, X rail), carriage assemblies with aerostatic bearings, high stiffness, machine tool spindles with aerostatic bearings and machine integrated measurement technology.
The primary scope of application is the 2D ultraprecision machining of even geometries on non-ferrous metals with monocrystalline single point diamond tools for the production of surfaces with optical quality (evenness tolerance < 0.5µm / Ø100mm; roughness Ra < 5nm).
By combining the machine with an optional Y and C axis, optical lattices and spheres can also be manufactured.
