Heat transition, tightness, fits: mechanical properties which are optimized by KUGLER ultraprecision machining.

If something has to be tight the mold has to fit. Exactly to the micrometer or even better. No problem for the KUGLER air-bearing UP ("ultraprecision") machines. Components up to lengths of about one meter are surface-milled by means of monocrystalline diamond tools, components with a diameter of up to 700 mm can be spherically machined (assuming the geometry is suitable). A wide range of roughness values can be selected.
Also to ensure a safe heat contact, for example in coolers for semiconductor components, the diamond-machined surfaces show advantages as compared to conventional components: the diamond machining minimizes the deformation especially of thin-walled structures.
Kugler additionally has comprehensive expertise in holding and chucking of sensitive components. Here vacuum or freezing chucks (see pictures) are used.
